High School Sweethearts Reunited Comments

  • Ms

It’s obvious all these sweethearts weren’t allowed to marry and really find each other until their teachers that were possibly raping them or the administration not letting them marry at the schools died and/or retired. I wonder if it’s connected to Alabama - where two people I know couldn’t get married at elementary school - and one of them kept having their parent tell them to kill herself and even tried hitting her with a car

I met her when she was just turned 13 and I was turning 15 . Instant thunderbolts and we had 16 months , then my parents moved 1500 miles west . I returned and tried to survive working as a 16 year old but failed after 6 months when i returned home. Then life went on and we each went other ways. I married and divorced after 23 years , at which time I searched the early internet for her 1998 to no avail. I married another and moved 800 miles south. At about the 4 year mark of my marriage (2004) I finally found her and we briefly connected though email , she too was married. but we had both always thought of each other and how we were fairing in life. Well my wife died in 2017 and a few month later she heard and sent her condolences .. we began talking and we are celebrating our 1st anniversary of being reunited on May 1 2020 .. It is magical

I was 15/16 and he was 18/19 we had a strong connection and for 12 months we were well I thought unofficially together and he thought we were officially together. Friends and a misunderstanding and prove separated us. He went on and marriage and has two boy I was asked to marry several times, but never married in the end, but have two girls and 1 boy. 24 years later thanks to Facebook we reconnected, he declared that his love for me had never ended and our misunderstanding and separation took a toll and influenced many of his following relationships. After chatting and defriending him several times, over the last 10 years, as his words of undying love scarred and confused me, I have finally let down those walls and we have been open and honest with each other and we both realised that we both never stopped loving each other. Although our lives are still complicated at my end, we are trying to find a way to be together again.

My first love in junior high and high school were forced to separate after over four years together. My parents thought we were too young. Being military families I had to leave for a new country and he stayed behind. When I turned 18 a few months later I returned to find him and he had left. I never stopped loving him..I wrote letters which I now know his siblings hid from him, so I heard nothing until we reunited on FaceBook. Now after 45 years we are getting married Aug 28, 2019. More in love than before! His family is finding it hard to accept, but if only they knew what we went through. Truly reunited through God.

I met my lost & found lover in the Air Force 36 years ago when I was 19. We made fast friends & were inseparable during my time there. At the end of my assignment at that base, he dropped me off at the airport & I thought I’d never see him again. It was the hardest goodbye I’ve ever experienced. We went on with our lives because we were committed to others & the timing wasn’t there for us to pursue a relationship more seriously. Life happened & we ended up reconnecting many years later. 36 years after he dropped me off at that airport, we were married at the same Air Force Base where we met. We are older & wiser now & acknowledged that God’s timing plays into our situation. We wrote our own vows & I used this example as a guideline. We were married last month & I never thought I could find this kind of happiness this side of Heaven!

My High School Sweetheart and I broke up in 1988. We both decided that we were too young (16 years old) to get too serious. He moved away and eventually got married and had kids, but is now divorced. Same with me, I married and had kids, but ended up divorced. Now 29 years later, we found each other on Facebook and decided to give it a try. We’re getting married July 2019.

I still pray for this day to come true, even though it has been over 40 years. If it is meant to be God will answer my prayer. Always in my heart.
